The academic year
The academic year at the University of Exeter is 31 weeks long. This is split into three terms following a 12+12+7 model.

The dates of required attendance do vary for some of the Colleges programmes, as follows:
- BSc Medical Imaging (Diagnostic Radiography). The academic year is 40 weeks instead of 31 weeks to accommodate placement modules.
You should note that the University requires that you be in attendance, as appropriate to your programme of study, from the first to the last day of term. You must ask permission (contact your Student Services Office) if you wish to be absent from the University for any considerable period during term time. Further information is available on the page.
