The recent investment in College facilities means extensive state-of-the-art facilities for students.

Electronics laboratory (Harrison)

The role of this laboratory has been provided to help with the design, development and construction of a wide range of electronics to support teaching in the College. The Electronics Laboratory has been recently refurbished and offers new state of the art equipment and teaching space.

Facilities

Seminar space

There is a dedicated seminar/tutorial area in the Electronics Laboratory. This area can seat up to 20 people, and provides an area for group discussions with access to a presentation screen and computer.

Teaching areas

The Electronics laboratory is equipped with all the electronic equipment you will use in your modules whilst studying in Exeter. Equipment available includes:

  • Power Supplies
  • Digital Voltmeters
  • Oscilloscopes 

The laboratory is also equipped with University computers on which you will be taught how to simulate your electronic equipment and program micro controllers.

Project area

The electronics lab has been designed to provide all the neccessary support to students during their project work. There is a specific area, at the back of the room, where students can work on their projects during a previously arranged timeslot.

Access

Access to the laboratory is only available during normal working office hours and there is no out of term time access for students.

Booking the laboratory

The electronics laboratory is available for students to work on their projects and coursework. If you would like access to the lab, please contact Roger Perrett (Team Lead) to book a timeslot and request any equipment you may need.

Important safety regulations

The University complies with Health and Safety Regulations. Please read the Mechanical Workshop Safety Regs and Fire Marshall Manual to identify your Fire Marshall and escape route before using any of our laboratories.
