The academic year

 

The academic year at the University of Exeter is 31 weeks long. This is split into three terms following a 12+12+7 model.

Spring Term Monday 6th January - Friday 27th March 2020
Summer Term Tuesday 27th April - Friday 12th June 2020
2020/2021   
Autumn Term Monday 21st September - Friday 11th December 2020
Spring Term Monday 4th January - Friday 26th March 2021
Summer Term Monday 26th April - Friday 11th June 2021
2021/2022  
Autumn Term Monday 20th September - Friday 10th December 2021
Spring Term Tuesday 4th January - Friday 26th March 2022
Summer Term Monday 25th April - Friday 10th June 2022

 

The dates of required attendance do vary for some of the Colleges programmes, as follows:

  • BSc Medical Imaging (Diagnostic Radiography). The academic year is 40 weeks instead of 31 weeks to accommodate placement modules.

You should note that the University requires that you be in attendance, as appropriate to your programme of study, from the first to the last day of term. You must ask permission (contact your Student Services Office) if you wish to be absent from the University for any considerable period during term time.
