How will I contact IT Support?

Support Contact points:

  • Non Critical

Go to www.exeter.ac.uk/ithelpdesk and log a support request

  • Critical/Emergency (i.e. critical problem that stops you from being able to work)

Ring SID who have a process in place to direct your call to the correct team. Someone from the central team will pick up your call and make sure it is resolved by the most appropriate person.

  • Teaching and Meeting Room Emergency

In-room Emergency (i.e. problems with the AV or IT in the room) ring AV who have an immediate response service ready to assist

What if it’s about Research?

The Desktop and Research IT teams work closely on many aspects of IT delivery in Departments.  When using the ‘contact’ process above, your call will be assessed and assigned to the Research IT team as needed.  The managers of both teams will monitor how this process works.  Martyn Brake leads the Research IT team.

 

What if I need to raise an issue or concern?

At an operational level, if you need to raise any issues around the support you’ve received you can contact the following; 

  • Customer Services Manager – Greg Laybourn (who leads the Desktop and AV Teams)
  • AV Service – Team Leaders –  Bryan Flockhart
  • Research IT Manager – Martyn Brake

IT Services can help you with; Email accounts, Working from home, Device compatibility i.e. smart phones and tablets, Laptop clinics to assess and repair problems, Printing and photocopying, Software requirements, Wifi systems across the campuses and access to networks in your accommodation.
