Open positions
Our group has several open PhD positions. In addition to the positions below, we are happy to host PhD students with own funding
Available funded positions
1- PhD studentships on Novel Quantum bit platforms
Deadline for applications 19-February-2024
Primary Supervisor: Professor Saverio Russo
Secondary Supervisor: Professor Monica Craciun
Funding: fully funded 4-year studentship including Tuition fees (UK/EU) and an annual stipend at current research council rates
This doctoral research project seeks to advance the frontier of quantum information science by developing experimentally innovative platforms for the realization of quantum bits (qubits) utilizing polaritons. Polaritons, hybrid particles resulting from the strong coupling between excitons and photons, exhibit unique quantum properties that make them promising candidates for the development of robust and scalable quantum computing architectures. The outcomes of this doctoral study have the potential to not only advance our fundamental understanding of quantum phenomena but also to pave the way for practical applications in the emerging era of quantum technologies.
Contact for informal enquiries: Prof. Saverio Russo, email (s.russo@exeter.ac.uk) or telephone (01392) 725195.
