7.19 Ethics Clearance
Some undergraduate modules and dissertations, and some MA/MRes dissertations, may involve interviews, surveys or observation of people. If this is the case, you should consider any ethical implications in consultation with your module tutor or dissertation supervisor, who will have access to University guidelines on research ethics, regarding especially the principle of informed consent of research participants. Further information can be found in the College PGR Handbook. Undergraduate students are not normally expected to submit formal ethics proposals but should ensure that they seek guidance as above.
