Tim Holsgrove is an Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering, and is part of the Biomedical Engineering Research Group, an interdisciplinary collaboration between the Departments of Physics and Engineering.
Professor Holsgrove was awarded a MEng and PhD from the University of Bath, undertook post-doctoral research associate positions in the Centre for Orthopaedics Biomechanics and the Sports, Health & Exercise Science groups at the University of Bath, and in the Spine Pain Research Laboratory at the University of Pennsylvania, before joining the University of Exeter in November 2016 as a Lecturer. He is a Senior Fellow of the Academy of Higher Education.
Professor Holsgrove’s research focuses on developing and implementing novel methods to understand spinal injuries, degeneration, and treatments. He also works with various orthopaedic groups in the Princess Elizabeth Orthopaedic Centre at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, and in 2017 he was awarded the Robin Ling Fellowship, which will develop research within the Hip Research Unit.
