Prof Bob Beare
Associate Professor Mathematics
Location: Harrison 325
Telephone: 01392 724045
Extension: (Streatham) 4045
Associate Professor Bob Beare's research involves modelling the atmospheric boundary layer and its interaction with weather systems. Such modelling work has an impact on improving weather and climate predictions, air pollution modelling and wind energy. He has a physics degree from Oxford University and a PhD in meteorology from Reading University. Previously at the Met Office, Bob is now an Associate Professor at CEMPS, Exeter University.
Research interests
- High resolution numerical weather prediction
- Using balance to test parametrization schemes in weather and climate models
- Pollution dispersion in evening boundary layers
- Antarctic boundary layers
