Mohsen is currently pursuing his PhD at the University of Exeter. He earned his Master's degree in Civil Engineering in 2020 from the University of Tehran, with a thesis entitled "Measuring Extraneous Water in Separate Sewer Systems with Concentration on Rainfall-Derived Inflow". During his MSc studies, he extensively explored various quantitative/computational methods for assessing inflow, infiltration, and exfiltration in separate sewer systems.

Beyond his focus on sewer systems, Mohsen has conducted research in diverse areas such as rainwater harvesting, life cycle assessment, water distribution systems, and water footprint assessment. He also demonstrates a keen interest in implementing Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) and green infrastructure in urban water systems.

Currently, Mohsen is engaged in a data-driven modelling project that examines Combined Sewer Overflows (CSOs) and surcharges in a combined sewer system. Using Gaussian Processes methodology, this project aims to predict CSOs and wastewater flows in the future. This PhD project is supervised by Dr. Hussein Rappel and Dr. Peter Melville-Shreeve
