Personal Biography

Lydia is a former Lecturer at the National Technical University of Athens, Greece, who was invited to Exeter in 2003 on sabbatical leave and remained as Research Fellow at the Centre for Water Systems. She is also a professional Engineer, with over 20 years of experience. Apart from research papers and books she has published over 50 technical reports on research and engineering projects, while her computer models have been professionally applied to more than 100 irrigation and water supply networks (case studies) in Greece.

Research Interests

Computer modelling and artificial intelligence techniques, especially fuzzy logic and genetic algorithms, with particular application to water supply/distribution and irrigation systems for design optimisation, Expert Systems, Real-Time models and Decision Support Systems.
