My current role is focussed on investigating novel technologies for the control and redirection of electromagnetic energy. I am based at QinetiQ in Farnborough and this work is part of the TEAM-A project (https://emps.exeter.ac.uk/team-a/).

My PhD project was titled: Bio-inspired Magnetic Systems: Controlled Swimming, Fluid Pumps, and Collective Motion. The aim was to deliver a new class of fluidic systems whose functionality could be controlled by external magnetic fields. The concept consisted of ferromagnetic micro-swimmers, comprising of a pair of anisotropically hard and soft ferromagnetic particles embedded in a polymer matrix. This project was part of the EU joint venture ABIOMATER, by the international consortium of University of Exeter (the coordinator) (UK), University of Oxford (UK), University of Barcelona (Spain), SPINTEC (France) and Platform Kinetics (UK).

I started my PhD in September 2015 after receiving my First Class in MPhys (Hons) Physics with Astrophysics in 2015. In my Masters project, I worked on simulating how young massive stars interact with their surrounding medium using three-dimensional Hydrodynamics.
