3.4 Having a Job

Having a part-time job can be a great way of gaining experience and earning extra money. However, it is your responsibility to ensure you are able to balance any employment commitments with your academic work.

The University strongly recommends that full-time undergraduate students do not undertake paid employment for more than 15 hours per week during term time.

The University’s Career Zone website provides useful information and guidelines about part-time and casual work.

3.4.1 Finding work

The University advertises a range of local jobs through My Career Zone and also holds part-time and casual jobs fairs at both Penryn and Streatham Campus.

There are opportunities to work for the University of Exeter through our Student Campus Partnership scheme and also as a Student Ambassador.

Current vacancies and further information can be found on the part-time and casual work pages.
