8.2 College careers support

The College of Humanities has four designated careers consultants: Mark Armitage, Rowanna Smith, Cate Bennett, and David Pritchard. Every undergraduate student will receive a talk from one of the Careers Consultants in each year of study. They will also be leading any specific skills workshops that will have been planned and agreed by the employability team and the careers consultants.

The college has its own employability team based in Room 300 in Laver Building. The team's responsibilities include developing relationships with employers, sending out the humanities employability newsletter to all students in the college, coordinating work placements, and arranging college careers events throughout the academic year, including the Creative Careers Festival in term 2. The employability team is responsible for both Exeter and Cornwall campuses. In addition, each department has an academic representative for employability, who ensures that the needs and interests of their students are well represented. You may also choose to discuss your career options with your personal tutor.

For more information about employability activity within the College, please visit the Careers section of the intranet.
