AIMS - intentions of the module
An introduction to companies and management. To provide a working knowledge of company structure, financial management accountancy and control, business methods and practice. To introduce the essentials of project management. To equip the students with professional communication skills (report writing).

SYLLABUS PLAN - summary of the structure and academic content of the module
Basic accounting practice, double entry bookkeeping, company structure, finance and reporting obligations. Analysis of financial statements projects costing and cost flow forecasting. Project Management, Operations Management, Strategic Management. Company types, Mission and Organisation; Strategic Management; Operations Management; Company Accounts and Finance; Systems theory and IDEFO modelling; Project Management; Systems Life Cycle; Health and Safety at Work; Technology in Manufacturing.
