AIMS - intentions of the module
To prepare the student for work in this area by providing appropriate grounding in magnetic, optical and electronic memory systems and devices, before presenting their application to data storage technology. To introduce the student to novel and emerging memory technologies and develop an appreciation of the future demands, physical limits and challenges facing the data storage industry.
