Tim is a Senior Lecturer in Applied Mathematics. He is currently Admissions Tutor for Mathematics.
Tim joined the University of Exeter in September 2007. Prior to his appointment at Exeter University he has worked a researcher at the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology and at the BP Institute for multiphase flow, University of Cambridge. Tim’s research focuses on applying mathematical and statistical techniques to climate-related questions. His current work is on data assimilation in the terrestrial carbon cycle; cointegration (time series analysis); land-atmosphere interactions diagnosed from satellite observations; feedbacks in the climate system; and Maximum Entropy Production ("MEP") in planetary atmospheres. In his spare time Tim enjoys sailing and playing the trombone.
