The field of engineering has been revolutionised by the advent of computer software, dramatically altering the manner in which engineering drawings and designs are created and modified. This module provides you with the opportunity to explore the realm of computer-aided drawing tools, investigating their varied applications in engineering. From crafting intricate 3D engineering designs to producing precise 2D drawings, you'll gain a comprehensive understanding of the capabilities and versatility of CAD (Computer-Aided Design) tools.

 

Additionally, this module surpasses mere software proficiency; it equips you with vital knowledge and skills to excel in the engineering industry. You will not only become proficient in globally recognised CAD programmes such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks but also develop a nuanced appreciation of the advantages and distinctions between these two widely used software packages.   1. Advanced CAD Software Skills: Master the operational intricacies of advanced CAD software, including, but not limited to, AutoCAD and SolidWorks, empowering you to seamlessly work with industry-standard tools.
  1. Understanding CAD Principles: Attain a profound comprehension of the foundational principles that underpin Computer-Aided Design, ensuring your ability to leverage these tools effectively and creatively.
  1. Quality Management and Continuous Improvement: Investigate the pivotal role of quality management systems and strategies for continuous improvement in addressing complex engineering challenges, fostering a problem-solving mindset.
