DURATION: WEEKS 13 13 13
Number of Students Taking Module (anticipated) 90
DESCRIPTION - summary of the module content
In this module, you will critically reflect on the work you do within your employed role and how the learning you have undertaken in other modules has been applied in the workplace. The focus of the module will be on the Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours (KSBs) required for the Level 7 Research Scientist Apprenticeship standard. The KSBs are delivered throughout the MSc Data Science (Professional) programme, but must be evidenced in the workplace to complete the Apprenticeship. This module will allow you to reflect on the KSBs and develop a portfolio of evidence in the style and format required for the apprenticeship. The aim is to allow integration and internalisation of skills and knowledge. You will be expected to become a reflective practitioner, consciously reflecting on your own practice and adapting accordingly.

This module is the second of two professional practice modules and will explore ethical and regulatory requirements for professional conduct.

The module COMM420DA Professional Practice 1 must be taken either before or alongside this module.
AIMS - intentions of the module
Central to this module is the notion of reflective practice, in which you pay attention to the knowledge, practice and theories which inform your everyday actions. By reflecting on the work you perform in your role as an apprentice, you will gain a deeper understanding of how your learning is making you more effective as a data scientist.

The module offers an important opportunity to explore how your learning related to the Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours for the Level 7 Research Scientist Apprenticeship standard is applied in the workplace. Through a series of guided tasks and activities, you will consider relevant learning from all modules on MSc Data Science (Professional) and reflect on how you have applied it to real world activities in your employment. This process will help you build the portfolio of evidence needed to complete the Apprenticeship. Successful completion of the module will help you to prepare for the End Point Assessment for the Apprenticeship.
